Neptune's Daughter by Ken David Matheson
Photoshop
August 2007

Neptunes Daugher - Neptune the great God and procreator of the sea, mates with a mortal woman, and begets a daughter, who is borne of a nautilus shell, although her father is a god, she still has the longing and desires of a human who waits to be released from the sea, and to live amongst mortals.

This piece did start in my sketchbook, in 2004. I scanned it in and worked on the line art and shading as well as the color purely in photoshop. The piece took one day to complete, approximately 5 hours or so. I was working on another piece and they were both finished within 6 hours so it was a fast piece but it turned out having a lot of detail.

I would appreciate any actual critiques on this piece as to how I could improve as an artists.

Thanks,

Ken David Matheson
